DANANG CITY SOCIAL WELFARE CENTER

In 2007, Da Nang City officials launched a bold campaign to address barriers to economic growth, development, and globalization.  This campaign was called the 5-No’s and the 3-Must Have’s

The Five No’s included:  No hunger, No illiteracy, No homelessness, No drug addiction, No crime.

The Three Must Have's included: A job, a home, and a civil lifestyle.

At a time when beggars, homeless, and sick elderly individuals roamed the streets desperate for food, shelter, and healthcare, the city responded by creating the Da Nang City Social Welfare Center.  The Welfare Center houses over 150-residents who include, lepers, orphans, disabled children and elderly, and they need your help.  Students from numerous American universities act as ambassadors and provide needed service to these vulnerable residents.

We need your financial support so that our students can continue their service projects.  Each week, students serve healthy meals, promote social interaction, and provide nursing care to the residents of the Welfare Center.  Your donation, large and small benefits the residents of the Welfare Center and helps teach American university students important lessons in intercultural competence, diplomacy, and advances critical skills for addressing complex social problems.  We are One world and your donation will build bridges of friendship and cooperation between nations.
